Eaton Resettable Fuse, 50A Current Rating, 6V Voltage - PTSLR12106V175

This resettable fuse is a polymer-based overcurrent Protector designed for low-voltage circuitry. It limits fault currents by increasing resistance under excessive load and returns to a low-resistance state once the fault is removed and the device cools, making it suitable for repeated protection cycles in electronic systems.

Features and Benefits:

• 50A nominal rating provides robust current-handling capability • 6V voltage rating suits low-voltage protection tasks • Hold current 1.75A prevents nuisance trips during normal operation • Trip current 3.5A delivers predictable fault intervention timing • Time to trip 2.5s offers Rapid response to overcurrent events • Low resistance range 0.01-0.04Ω minimises voltage drop during steady state

Applications

• Suitable for protection of automotive low-voltage harnesses operating at elevated temperatures • Ideal for safeguarding control modules in automation equipment • Used with power distribution boards in electrical assemblies • Can be used for overcurrent protection in embedded electronic devices • Suitable for surface-mount installations supplied on reel for volume assembly

What thermal limits should I consider for installation?

The device functions across a thermal span down to -40°C and up to 85°C, so ambient and neighbouring component temperatures must be evaluated to ensure proper trip and reset behaviour.

How does package format affect assembly and inventory?

It is supplied in a reel package suitable for automated pick-and-place processes, simplifying high-speed surface-mount assembly and stock handling.

What electrical loss can I expect during normal operation?

The device exhibits a very low resistance in its conductive state between 0.01Ω and 0.04Ω, resulting in minimal power dissipation under rated currents.

How much power does the part dissipate at elevated loads?

Its power dissipation rating is 0.8W, which should be considered when assessing thermal rise on tightly packed boards.
