The Microchip Integrated processor supervisor designed to enhance system reliability in microprocessor-based applications. It combines three essential functions: precision power-on/off reset control, a watchdog timer, and external reset override. On power-up, it holds the processor in reset for at least 250 ms after the supply voltage stabilizes, ensuring a clean startup. The watchdog timer monitors processor activity and triggers a reset if the system becomes unresponsive. A manual reset input allows external override with built-in debounce for push-button switches.
