Fluke Earth Tester, ±5% rdg + 5 Digits Accuracy, 300V Safety Category Voltage - FLUKE-1625-2

This earth tester is a portable instrument for measuring earth resistance and soil resistivity in industrial and field environments. It is designed for outdoor use with an IP56-rated case and straightforward operation via a central rotary switch and a single START control, enabling Rapid on-site assessments of earthing systems and loop impedances across a broad temperature range.

Features & Benefits

• Memory holds up to 1500 records for USB transfer
• Measures earth resistance with ±5% accuracy specification
• Stakeless testing using two clamps to save setup time
• AFC and R* modes reduce interference and reflect 55Hz impedance
• Operates from AA batteries with up to 6000h life for extended use
• Safety rated to IEC 61010-1 and CAT II 300V for user protection

Applications

• Suitable for commissioning and verification of earthing networks
• Used for maintenance checks in power utilities and substations
• Ideal for industrial plant earthing surveys and troubleshooting
• Used with clamp accessories for non-invasive residential testing
• Suitable for soil resistivity studies when planning earthing systems

How is data exported for reporting and analysis?

Stored measurements are accessed via a USB port and transferred as recorded files for off-line review.

What test methods can be selected on the instrument?

The unit supports 3- and 4-pole fall-of-potential, 4-pole soil resistivity, selective single-clamp tests and stakeless two-clamp loop measurements.

How does it behave in the presence of external voltage?

Measurements are inhibited if external voltage exceeds 24V or if socket-to-socket abuse approaches 250V rms to prevent incorrect readings.

What environmental limits apply to operation and storage?

Rated for operation between -10°C and +50°C and storage between -30°C and +60°C with climatic tolerance for 5%–95% relative humidity.

What are the instrument’s display and portability characteristics?

It uses an LCD for clear numeric display and weighs approximately 1.1 kg, making it suitable for field portability.

Supplied with

6 x AA LR6 batteries, 2 x measuring leads 1.5 m, 2 x alligator clips, users manual.
