3M Adhesive-Backed/PSA Sanding Disc, 127mm Disc Diameter, 220 Grit size - 7100288230

This adhesive-backed/PSA sanding disc is a net-backed abrasive designed for general-purpose sanding, stock removal, surface preparation and intermediate or finish sanding across multiple substrates. It combines a precision-shaped ceramic and aluminium oxide mineral blend on a net support to facilitate dust extraction when used with a backing pad and vacuum system, and it attaches rapidly via a hook-and-loop style Interface integrated into the net.

Features & Benefits

• Precision-shaped ceramic grain increases cut rate and lifespan
• Net backing enables dust extraction with compatible vacuum systems
• Proprietary pattern coating reduces loading and improves finish
• Blend of aluminium oxide and PSG offers balanced aggressiveness
• Hook-and-loop compatible loops allow fast disc changes

Applications

• Suitable for scuffing and prep of painted surfaces prior to assembly
• Ideal for metal deburring and surface blending in fabrication lines
• Used for composite and gelcoat finishing in vehicle manufacture
• Can be used for smoothing fillers and sealants in panel repair
• Suitable for whitewood sanding in joinery component production

What backing system is required for effective dust control?

A supporting pad with matching hook-and-loop attachment and a vacuum extraction unit are required to draw dust through the net backing during operation.

How should stock be stored to maintain performance?

Keep in original packaging at 16°C to 26°C and 35 to 50% relative humidity on a first-in, first-out basis to avoid shortened shelf life.

Which operating speeds are relevant for disc selection?

Maximum orbits per minute vary by disc size

consult your tool’s OPM range and match it to the disc’s permissible OPM to avoid overspeeding.

What substrates can be processed with this disc?

It is suitable for primers, paints, lacquers, sealants, fillers, putties, gelcoat, composites, timber and metals.

How is product identification and safety information provided?

Identification and safety instructions are supplied on the product label, box and accompanying safety leaflet.
