Eaton British Standard Fuse, 6A, 660V AC TIA6

Protect industrial equipment from short circuits or power surges with this British Standard fuse from Eaton. It's suitable for safeguarding both general-purpose and motor circuits and safely breaks both high-fault and low-fault currents. As the fuse has a high rupture capacity, it carries a short circuit current safely for a brief period before it blows. This allows it to be used with motors as it tolerates a start-up surge without blowing. It's robust and won't deteriorate with age so there's almost never a need to maintain it. Fuses like this are commonly found in motors, transformers and car wiring circuits.

• Bolted fuse that's easy to mount and remove once it blows

• Low power dissipation for improved efficiency in an electrical system

• Minimal space requirements with a compact size of 85.5 (L) x 56.4 (H) x 22.2mm (D)

How do I know what type of fuse I need?

The most important factor to consider when selecting a fuse is the power rating of your application. A fuse should have a current rating that's marginally higher than the standard operating current of the device it's protecting. This is so it won't blow and trip a circuit in the event of a low, harmless surge.

Eaton Bussmann Series Red Spot™ Range, Type 'T' HBC Fuses

The Red Spot range of offset slotted fuses (or bolted tag fuses) from Eaton Bussmann is specifically designed for the protection of general industrial applications such as power distribution, cable protection and motor protection. Available in BS88 British Standard fuse sizes from A1 to A4, offset slotted and bolted fuses are suitable for general purpose rating (gG) and dual motor rating (gM) motor protection types.

Features and Benefits

• 2 to 200 A rated current

• Breaking capacity 80 kA up to 690 V ac

• Type A1 rated up to 550 V ac/ 250 V dc

• Type A2 rated up to 660 V ac / 460 V dc

• General purpose (gG) and dual motor rated (gM) types

• Low power dissipation

• ASTA 20 certified

As the fuse allows for the starting surge of a motor its full load current must not exceed the lesser of the dual current rating. e.g. 20 M25 must not have a continuous load of greater than 20A.
