Honeywell Amplified Airflow Sensor, Dry Gas, 0 to 20SLPM - AWM5000 Series - AWM5104VN
This amplified airflow sensor from Honeywell is designed for measuring airflow levels up to 20SLPM (standard litres per minute) in dry gas environments. It's based on a venturi design, which uses a tube with a narrowed centre to control the pressure and velocity at different points to calculate the total flow of air through the system. This simple method is able to record very accurate measurements while also ensuring minimal permanent pressure loss in your equipment.
Features and Benefits
• Uses a microbridge chip placed in direct contact with the flow stream, greatly reducing the chance of error
• Fast response time of 60 milliseconds, for use in high-frequency readings
• 1/4 NPT (National Pipe Thread) terminals allow a variety of different connection types
• The rugged plastic housing protects it from pressures up to 50psi, so it's suitable for demanding applications
Application Information
• Medical devices
• Vehicle engines
• Industrial pumps
Does this sensor work with more than one type of atmosphere?
The sensor can be set up to measure the flow rate of different gases. It has calibrations for argon, nitrogen and carbon dioxide.
High Flow Mass Airflow/Amplified
AWM5000 series microbridge mass airflow sensors feature a venturi type flow housing. They measure flow as high as 20 SLPM while inducing a maximum pressure drop of 2.25N H2O. The microbridge chip is in direct contact with the flow stream, greatly reducing error possibilities due to orifice or bypass channel clogging.
Features and Benefits
• Linear voltage output;• Venturi design;• Remote mounting capability;• Active laser trimming improves interchangeability;• Separate gas calibration types:;– Ar (argon);– N2 (nitrogen) or;– CO2 (carbon dioxide)
Product Application Information
The rugged plastic package has been designed to withstand common mode pressures up to 50 psi. The small sensing element allows 100 Gs of shock without compromising performance. The included AMP compatible connector provides reliable connection in demanding applications.
