3M Adhesive-Backed/PSA Sanding Disc, 76.2mm Disc Diameter, 80 Grit size - 7100287538

This adhesive-backed/PSA sanding disc is a net-backed abrasive intended for general-purpose sanding, stock removal and surface preparation across a range of substrates in industrial settings. Designed for use with a Hookit™ hook and loop supporting pad and vacuum extraction, it reduces airborne dust when paired with a suitable backing tool and extraction system. The abrasive combines precision-shaped ceramic with aluminium oxide for consistent cutting and finishing in workshop and production-line environments.

Features & Benefits

• Precision-shaped ceramic grain for Faster material removal
• Net backing enables effective dust extraction during sanding
• Hookit™ compatible loops allow Rapid disc changes
• Pattern-coated resin reduces loading and improves finish
• Formulated for multi-substrate use including metals

Applications

• Suitable for de-nibbing primer and lacquer on metal panels
• Ideal for preparing composite surfaces before bonding
• Used for scuffing and finishing whitewood components
• Suitable for stock removal on gelcoat and fillers
• Can be used in automated sanding stations with vacuum extraction

What backing arrangement supports dust control with this disc?

The net backing is designed to be used with a supporting pad and vacuum system so particulates are extracted through the disc during operation.

Which abrasive materials are combined to achieve cutting performance?

A blend of aluminium oxide and a proprietary precision-shaped ceramic grain delivers a balance of cut rate and edge life.

How should the discs be stored to retain performance?

Keep in their original box at 16°C to 26°C and 35 to 50% relative humidity on a first-in, first-out basis to preserve shelf life.

Are there options for different grit ranges for varied finishing needs?

Multiple grades are offered including 80, 120, 150, 180, 220, 240 and 320 to suit coarse stock removal through to finer finishing.
