Festo YSR Series Shock Absorber, 8mm Stroke Length, 46mm Length - YSR-8-8-C, Numeric Part Number:34571

This shock absorber is a Compact mechanical damping device designed to decelerate moving elements in automated and industrial equipment. It operates with a single-acting pushing action and provides self-adjusting cushioning to reduce impact forces in short-stroke applications, making it suitable for use where frequent, Rapid cycles and Compact installation are required.

Features & Benefits

• 3J energy per stroke reduces transmitted impact energy for components
• 18,000J per hour capacity copes with high-duty-cycle use
• 3m/s maximum impact speed maintains damping at Rapid approaches
• 0.02J residual energy minimises post-impact motion and bounce
• Reset times 0.2s/1s enable quick recovery for varied cycle profiles
• Reset force 2.5N ensures consistent return behaviour after impact

Applications

• Suitable for end-of-travel cushioning on pick-and-place units
• Ideal for high-cycle indexing tables in assembly lines
• Used for deceleration on sliding Gates and small conveyors
• Can be used for collision protection on pneumatic actuators
• used with Compact robotics where installation space is limited

What mounting method does it require?

It is fitted using a lock nut arrangement compatible with threaded installations.

How does it resist environmental degradation?

External corrosion resistance is rated for moderate conditions and Seals are MADE from NBR to withstand typical industrial atmospheres.

What materials are used in load-bearing parts?

The housing and piston rod are manufactured from high-alloy steel for structural durability.

Are there restrictions on ambient operating temperatures?

It functions across a temperature band from -10°C up to 80°C without performance loss.

What weight should be expected for planning purposes?

The unit has a mass of 32g for calculating payload and inertia effects.
