This RS PRO 22 kW 3-phase star-delta starter means you can start motors at a lower voltage, so it's a sensible option when you're using a motor on-and-off or with frequent starts and stops.
You might choose to fit an overload to this starter to protect against electrical surges and overheating. You'll need a compatible overload from the RF38 series (for example stock no. 685-1309) to match the full-load current of your motor as this model doesn't come with one. The device consists of three efficient contacts, along with a timer. It operates at temperatures ranging from -25°C to +60°C.
A star-delta motor starter controls winding currents only and is found in manufacturing environments. It has a moulded plastic case that provides IP65 ingress protection, shielding against dust and high-pressure water jets. Plus, it's compliant with IEC 60947-1 (low-voltage equipment safety) and IEC 60947-4-1 (protection from short-circuits).
