Molex FPC Connector, 50V Maximum Voltage, Gold Contact Plating - Easy On Series - 52559-4052

Finding it fiddly to cram complex circuits into a device? Use this FPC connector from Molex to mount flexible printed circuits on PCB surfaces. It takes 40 circuits and has a pitch size of 0.5mm to keep your component footprint small. The connector slides open and closed for easy assembly by hand or robot. A high retention force means it holds on tight to the FPC, helping to keep your electronic setup resistant to movement and vibrations.

Features & Benefits

• Gold-plated contacts keep corrosion at bay

• Maximum voltage of 50V to handle high-power circuits

• Thermally-resistant nylon means it won't have a meltdown at temperatures between -40°C and +85°C

Applications

• In-car systems

• Security cameras

• Industrial computing

• Factory automation

What's the difference between an FPC and an FFC?

An FPC is a flexible printed circuit, while an FFC is a flat flexible cable. Both are used inside electronics to make multiple signal and data connections.

Molex Easy On 0.5 mm ZIF Vertical SMT FPC Connectors - 52559 Series

Easy On 52559 series ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) vertical SMT mount FPC connectors with a 0.5 mm pitch and a space saving design making them ideal for use in tight packaging applications. These Easy On FPC connectors feature a slide type actuator which provides a secure connection between the FPC and the connector terminals. The connector contacts are positioned on one side and are designed to move with the cable when it is pulled up or down. This feature helps provide a secure contact retention force and ensures that electrical contact is maintained. Solder tabs (or nails) on the base of the connector provide secure PCB retention and strain relief for the solder tail joints.

Features and Benefits

• Space saving design

• ZIF for repeat cycling with minimum wear

• Slide type actuator for easy insertion and secure connection of FPC

• Movable contacts for secure contact retention

• Solder tabs for secure retention on PCB and strain relief

Product Application Information

FPC connectors are an extremely compact and reliable interconnection technology designed for use in signal and data applications that require high density flat flex for complex wiring harness. These Easy On ZIF FPC connectors are ideal for use in a wide range of applications in the automotive, consumer, datacommunications, medical and mobile phone industry. Applications include automotive navigation and audio, digital cameras, home security, tablet and notebook PCs, patient monitors, GPS, smartphones and tablets.
