Fluke 500 Series Battery Tester, 600V Maximum Voltage Rating, All Chemistries Compatibility - FLUKE-BT521

This battery tester is a portable, handheld analyser designed to assess individual stationary batteries and battery banks used in critical backup systems. It simplifies routine maintenance, troubleshooting and performance evaluation by combining voltage, resistance and temperature measurement capabilities with automated sequence testing and wireless data transfer for field and remote analysis.

Features & Benefits

• Measures internal resistance with 0.001mΩ resolution for precise assessment
• Supports dc and ac voltage up to 1000V for high-voltage systems
• Integrated temperature sensing for temperature-correlated diagnostics
• Automatic sequence mode stores up to 450 batteries per profile for efficient surveys
• Wireless data download and remote display via mobile app for immediate review
• USB Interface and PC software enable trend analysis and PDF report generation

Applications

• Suitable for checking intercell strap resistance in battery strings
• Ideal for maintenance of UPS and critical backup installations
• Used for on-site logging and trend analysis of stationary battery banks
• Can be used for acceptance testing after battery replacement or installation

What measurement types are automatically logged during a string test?

During sequence testing the instrument captures voltage, resistance and temperature readings with time stamps and stores them for later review.

How does the instrument handle data transfer and reporting in the field?

Measurements can be downloaded via USB to desktop software for histograms and PDF reports or sent wirelessly to a mobile app as CSV or quick-email format.

What safety and environmental ratings are relevant for industrial use?

The device meets 600V CAT III safety classification, electromagnetic compatibility to IEC61326, and RoHS China environmental restrictions.

What battery and runtime provision supports continuous field operation?

A 7.4V 3000mAh lithium‑ion pack provides more than eight hours of continuous operation and is rechargeable via the supplied AC charger.

Which accessory enables temperature measurement on negative posts?

An intelligent test probe with integrated temperature sensor is used to Record temperature directly at the negative battery post.
