3M 769F Series Flap Disc, 150mm Disc Diameter, 60 Grit size - 7100239223

This flap disc is an abrasive finishing product designed for medium to high unit-pressure grinding on metal substrates. It combines a blend of aluminium oxide and a precision-shaped ceramic grain to remove material efficiently while suited to workshop and industrial environments. The construction uses a resin bond with a polyester-backed hub and fibreglass support, providing stable mounting for guarded power tools.

Features & Benefits

• Aluminium oxide and PSG mineral blend for consistent cutting speed
• Resin bond for sustained abrasive life under pressure
• Polyester Y-weight backing for flexible flap conformity
• Fibreglass hub support for improved disc stability
• Available in 60 grit for controlled stock removal and surface preparation

Applications

• Suitable for deburring and blending weld seams on steelwork
• Ideal for surface preparation before coating on stainless components
• Used for finishing nickel/chromium alloy parts in fabrication
• can be used with guarded angle grinders in industrial production

What hole size does it run on grinders with centre-mount spindles?

It uses a 22.23mm centre hole to fit compatible hub-mounted backing plates.

How should it be stored to maintain performance?

Keep in original packaging at 16°C to 26°C and 35 to 50% relative humidity on a first-in, first-out basis.

Which backing type supports the abrasive flaps?

A polyester Y-weight backing carries the flaps, allowing conformity to contours while retaining strength.

Can the fibreglass support plate be altered for custom fitment?

The fibreglass support must not be trimmed as alteration may create a safety risk.

What substrates are appropriate for use?

It is intended for carbon steel, stainless steel and nickel/chromium-based alloys.
