Eaton Tag Fuse, 160A Current, 1000V Voltage - PV-160A-2XL-B

This tag fuse is a photovoltaic protection device designed to isolate and interrupt fault currents in solar array combiner and disconnect applications. It is intended for use within PV systems up to 1000V and protects against reverse current and multi-array fault conditions while being compatible with dedicated PV fuse bases.

Features & Benefits

• 160A rating provides clear current protection in arrays
• Fast-acting construction minimises energy let-through
• 1000V DC rating supports higher-voltage string configurations
• 2XL body size allows interchangeability with certain layouts
• 167mm fixing centres enable precise panel or combiner mounting
• Compatible with specified PV bases for straightforward installation

Applications

• Suitable for protecting photovoltaic array combiners and disconnects
• Ideal for use in multi-string solar inverter inputs
• Used with Eaton XL PV bases in commercial PV installations
• Can be used for isolating reverse-current fault conditions in arrays

What interruption behaviour can be expected under low overcurrent faults?

It is capable of interrupting low overcurrents typical of reverse-current and multi-array faults, with a minimum interrupting rating equal to twice the rated current.

Which mounting arrangements are supported for bolted installations?

A bolted variant exists with revised bolting compatible with larger-size mounting patterns to allow utilisation without changing inverter or combiner layouts.

What standards and approvals does it meet for industrial use?

It conforms to IEC 60269-6 and UL 248-19 standards and is RoHS compliant.

Which accessory supports safe fuse extraction?

A designated extraction handle is available for compatible body sizes to assist removal and replacement.
