The Infineon's BTS7004-1EPZ is a Smart High-Side Power Switch that comes with Arduino shield, providing protection functions and diagnosis. The device is suitable for applications with extended or/and high temperature mission profiles. It is suitable for driving 15 A resistive, inductive and capacitive loads and replaces electromechanical relays, fuses and discrete circuits. For demonstrating relay and fuse replacement, the shield can be used to control and protect outputs of a 12V supply, turn ON/OFF loads (e.g. bulbs, heating resistors, motor drives), measure the load current and detect no-load condition.
