Sick YN2D24 Series Connector and Cable, 5m Cable Length, Green Jacket - YN2D24-050PN1MRJA4

This connector and cable assembly links M12-based field devices to RJ45 Ethernet ports for industrial data transmission. It is intended for use where a ruggedised M12 male Interface must connect to a straight RJ45 male plug, supporting Ethernet and PROFINET signalling in automation and sensor installations. The green polyurethane-sheathed lead is suited to continuous-motion environments such as drag chains and areas exposed to oils and lubricants.

Features & Benefits

• IP67 protection at M12 for robust wet-environment use
• PUR green jacket with halogen-free material for chemical resistance
• CAT5e transmission enabling up to 0.1Gbit/s data throughput
• Shielded 4-wire construction for reduced electromagnetic interference
• 300V nominal cable rating for safe industrial voltages
• Designed for >3,000,000 bending cycles to support continuous motion

Applications

• Suitable for connecting sensors to PROFINET controllers in factory automation
• Ideal for fieldbus links where drag-chain routing is required
• Used with machinery located in zones contaminated by oils and lubricants
• Can be used for short-distance Ethernet patching between cabinet and sensor
• Suitable for installers needing an M12 male to RJ45 male 5 m cable

What temperatures can the assembly withstand during movement?

In flexible operation the cable tolerates −30°C to +70°C while the connector heads remain rated up to +85°C for static parts.

How is the M12 connection secured mechanically?

The M12 end uses a screw-on fastening with a zinc die-cast, nickel-plated locking nut tightened to 0.6 Nm and a 13mm across-flats profile.

What mechanical motion parameters are supported in drag chains?

The assembly is specified for traversing speeds up to 3.3 m/s, travelling distances to 5 m and accelerations up to 2 m/s².

What electrical endurance does the cable provide for signal integrity?

The cable is specified with a 2000V test voltage, rated impulse withstand of 1 kV and a current-carrying capacity of 1.5A to maintain reliable signalling in industrial networks.
