Fluke Proving Unit, 240V Output Voltage, Battery Power Source - PRV240FS

This proving unit is a compact, battery-operated voltage source intended to confirm the correct operation of no-test-lead FieldSense measurement and other high-impedance instruments in industrial environments. It supplies a steady 240V AC or DC output to allow technicians to perform a test-before-touch sequence, reducing exposure to live systems while validating measurement tools prior to and after on-site measurements.

Features & Benefits

• Supplies 240V AC or DC to validate instrument response under load
• LEDs indicate presence of output voltage for immediate verification
• Operates from four AA alkaline cells for field battery convenience
• Performs approximately 2,000 tests per battery set to reduce downtime
• EMC meets IEC 61326-1 and CISPR11 for industrial electromagnetic environments

Applications

• Suitable for proving FieldSense functionality on T6 electrical testers
• Ideal for use with high-impedance multimeters and clamp meters
• Used for pre-measurement verification in electrical maintenance routines
• Can be used for factory test benches requiring a portable voltage source

How is the output presented for different tester types?

The unit provides voltage via a central hub for open-fork FieldSense checks and through recessed contacts that activate when probes are inserted for conventional probe-based instruments.

What environmental conditions will it tolerate during typical use?

It operates between -10°C and 50°C, with humidity limits that vary by temperature: up to 90% relative humidity from 0°C to 35°C, and up to 70% from 35°C to 55°C.

What measures reduce accidental contact risk during testing?

Recessed probe contacts prevent inadvertent touch, and a simple single-switch operation minimises handling complexity during verification.

How portable is the unit for field technicians?

The device weighs 0.32 kg including batteries and includes a magnetic hanging strap for convenient hands-free placement.

Which approvals indicate suitability for industrial use?

It conforms to IEC 61010-1 and IEC 61010-2-030 safety standards and is classified under CISPR11 and related EMC regulations for industrial equipment.
