Siemens 6AG119 Series Base Unit, ET 200SP For Use With - 6AG11936BP407DA1

This base unit is a Compact I/O module designed as a mounting Interface for ET 200SP systems, offering extended temperature operation and enhanced board protection for demanding industrial contexts. It provides a single slot for signal modules, push-in wiring for Rapid field termination and is suited to installation heights up to 5000 m, enabling deployment in a wide range of automation and process-control environments.

Features & Benefits

• Operates between -40 to +70°C enabling wide thermal-range performance
• Conformal coating for increased contamination and moisture resilience
• Isolation tested to 707V DC for robust electrical separation
• Internal temperature compensation for stable thermocouple readings
• Push-in terminals with 2x5 add-on connectors for fast wiring

Applications

• Suitable for factory automation control cabinets requiring Compact I/O
• Ideal for harsh-environment conveyors and production lines with oil exposure
• Used with thermocouple inputs in process temperature monitoring
• Can be used on marine or shipboard control systems subject to salt spray
• Used for retrofitting ET 200SP installations as a field-replaceable base

What protection does it provide for circuit separation?

The backplane bus is potential-separated from the supply and the module has been isolation-tested at 707 V DC to ensure safe electrical separation between system domains.

How should the power supply be protected in the field?

External protection is required

a 24V DC miniature circuit breaker rated 10A with type B or C tripping characteristic is specified for the supply line.

Can it tolerate condensation and humid conditions?

It has been tested for operation with condensation and frost and accepts relative humidity up to 100% under test conditions, though commissioning must avoid Active condensation.

What environmental contaminants is it resistant to?

The unit resists common coolants, lubricants, diesel and oil droplets and meets classifications for biological, chemical and mechanical exposures specified for industrial and shipboard use.
