From RS PRO this is an illuminated Piezo button housed within plastic (POM) one piece casing which includes an LED polycarbonate illuminated ring. The switch button is rigid and extremely strong, rigid, and hard wearing plus provides excellent protection in extreme environments. Total protection from liquid when fully submersed plus protection from snow, rain, ice, and dirt including extreme temperatures. As the RS PRO Piezo switch button has no moving parts this button is perfect for environments where it is in constant use and will survive rough and harsh treatment.

Piezo switches are also known as Piezoelectric switches. The switches are an electronic switch that uses the piezoelectric effect converting mechanical energy into an electrical signal. The switch does not use mechanical components like springs or buttons to activate or deactivate electrical circuits.
