The SFH 2430, from OSRAM Opto Semiconductors, is a silicon photodiode with Vlambda (Vλ) characteristics. These photodiodes are designed to resemble the sensitivity of the human eye. The SFH 2430 are ideal for ambient light sensor applications, for example mobile phones, rain sensors and regulation of air conditioning. They come in a DIL plastic package which is surface mounted (SMD).
