SICK DBS36 Core Series Incremental Encoder, Aluminium Housing, IP65 - DBS36E-BBAK001024 / 1060147

This incremental encoder provides precise rotary position feedback for industrial automation and motion-control systems. Designed for installation where a compact, robust sensor is needed, it delivers multi-channel incremental signals and an electrically gated reference Pulse to support high-resolution position and speed measurement in demanding environments.

Features & Benefits

• 1,024ppr resolution delivers fine positional granularity for control loops
• TTL/RS-422 outputs enable noise-immune signal transmission over distance
• 6-channel configuration supplies A, B and reference signals for phase detection
• 300kHz maximum output frequency supports high-speed monitoring and control
• Aluminium housing with IP65 rating resists dust and splash ingress
• Operating range to +85°C permits use in elevated-temperature usage

**Applications**

• Suitable for servo motor feedback in factory automation systems
• Ideal for position sensing on conveyors and packaging machinery
• Used for speed monitoring in rotational test rigs
• Can be used for shaft-angle detection in robotics joints
• Suitable for retrofitting into existing motion-control installations

What electrical supply is required to run it?

It operates from a 4.5 to 5.5 V supply and draws up to 50mA without load, with outputs limited to 30mA load current.

How is the encoder connected to control electronics?

A universal 8-wire cable of 1.5m is provided with TTL/HTL signal wiring and a grounded shield connected to the housing side.

What mechanical shaft Interface does it use?

The device features a blind hollow shaft accepting an 8 mm fitted shaft and stainless-steel internal shaft components.

How does it perform under mechanical stress?

Bearings are rated for around 2x10^9 revolutions, withstanding shocks to 100g and vibration up to 20g across 10Hz–2,000Hz.
