Honeywell GLA Series Limit Switch, 1NO/1NC Contact Configuration, IP67 - GLAA01A2B

This limit switch provides mechanical position detection for industrial control and automation systems, delivering robust actuation with a roller lever for contact operation. It is designed for side mounting in environments where ingress protection and a Durable enclosure are required, enabling reliable switching within electrical distribution and machinery control panels.

Features and Benefits:

• Adjustable roller lever gives flexible actuation geometry and repeatable trips
• 1NO1NC snap-action contacts enable fast, defined switching transitions
• Rated switching current 10A supports moderate load control without relays
• Compatible with AC up to 600V and DC up to 250V for varied circuits
• Die-cast zinc housing provides hard-wearing enclosure and impact resistance
• IP67 protection allows use in wet or dust-prone locations

Applications

• Suitable for conveyor end-of-travel detection in manufacturing lines
• Ideal for machine safety interlocks in production equipment
• Used for position sensing on automated packaging systems
• Can be used for limit detection in material-handling installations

What temperature range can it operate within on-site?

It functions across −25 °C to 85 °C, permitting use in chilled or heated industrial spaces.

How long will the switching mechanism last under repeated cycles?

Mechanical life is specified at 15 million operations, supporting high-cycle installations.

What conduit sizes can be accommodated for cable entry?

The device accepts NPT conduit entries from 0.5 to 14 NPT to match site wiring standards.

Which certifications confirm suitability for regulated installations?

It holds approvals including UL, CE, CSA, EN, IEC, RoHS and CCC for diverse compliance requirements.

Approvals

UL/ UL listed for Canada

Warning

GLA limit switches have not been designed as emergency stop or safety devices. They must not be used in applications where personal injury could occur as a result of the products failing.

Standards

IEC/EN 60947-5-1
While IEC/EN 609747-1 covers general rules relating to low voltage switchgear and controlgear, IEC/EN 60947-5-1 specifically relates to control circuit devices and switching elements. The standard monitors the characteristics of devices, the electrical and mechanical requirements and the functional requirements.

EN50047
GLC and GLD limit switches are constructed from housing that meets EN50047. EN50047 applies to position switches with an automatic return actuator. Models that meet EN50047 feature standardised characteristics and dimensions (30.5 x 31.1 x 68 mm).

IP 66
A rating of IP 66 ensures that the limit switch units are protected against dust and low-pressure jets of water.

Sealed to NEMA 1, 4, 12, 13
NEMA 1 states that enclosures can be used indoor and offers a degree of protection against contact with the equipment enclosed.
NEMA 4 states that enclosures can be used either indoor or outdoor and provide protection against windblown rain and dust, hose directed water and splashing water.
NEMA 12 states that enclosures are intended for use indoors and offer some protection from dust, dirt, falling dirt and dripping non-corrosive liquids.
NEMA 13 states that enclosures are used indoors and offer a level of protection from oil, non-corrosive coolants, spraying water and dust.
