Honeywell HDLS Series Limit Switch, 20mm Conduit Entry, Roller Lever Actuator - LSYAB1A

This limit switch provides a compact, robust means of detecting mechanical position changes in industrial control systems. It uses a roller lever actuator to convert physical movement into an electrical signal and is designed for side mounting where a screw‑terminal connection is required. The device is suitable for environments requiring ingress protection and can operate across a broad temperature range.

Features and Benefits:

• Snap‑action contacts deliver fast, positive switching response
• SPDT contact arrangement allows single‑pole changeover control
• Die‑cast zinc housing offers Durable protection in harsh settings
• IP67 rating permits operation in dust‑filled and water‑exposed areas
• Rated to 10 million cycles for extended mechanical life
• 20mm conduit entry simplifies cable gland installation

Applications

• Suitable for conveyor end‑of‑travel detection in automation lines
• Ideal for actuator position sensing in valve assemblies
• Used for limit detection on packaging machinery stops
• Can be used for position feedback on industrial presses
• Used with control panels requiring side‑mounted switching devices

What Terminal type is provided for wiring connections?

Screw terminals are fitted to enable secure, tool‑assisted conductor attachment for routine wiring practices.

What temperatures can it withstand during continuous operation?

It operates reliably from −40°C up to a maximum of 121°C for high‑temperature processes.

How is the device mounted to machinery?

It is intended for side‑orientation mounting, allowing installation where lateral actuation is required.

What actuator form does the unit use to Interface with moving parts?

A roller lever actuator is used to engage moving components with minimal friction and precise actuation timing.

Approvals

UL, CSA.

Standards

IP65, IP66, IP67
HDLS switches have a IP65, IP66 and IP67 rating. This means they are dust-tight and offer protection against water jets, heavy seas and the effects of immersion.

NEMA 1, 3, 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12, 13
Type 1: Enclosures that meet Type 1 are for indoor use, and provide some limited protection for the enclosed equipment.
Type 3: Allows for indoor or outdoor use and provides a degree of protection against access to hazardous parts. The enclosures provide some protection from foreign objects (such as windblown dust) and the ingress of water (such as rain or snow). Enclosures that meet NEMA 3 offer protection against ice forming externally.
Type 4: Allows for indoor or outdoor use and provides a degree of protection against access to hazardous parts. The enclosures provide some protection from foreign objects (such as falling dirt and windblown dust) and the ingress of water (such as rain, snow or sleet alongside splashing water and hose directed water). Enclosures that meet NEMA 3 offer protection against ice forming externally.
Type 4X: Allows for indoor our outdoor use and provides some ptoection against windust dust and rain, corroision, splashing water and hose directed water.
Type 6: Allows for indoor or outdoor use and provides a degree of protection against access to hazardous parts. The enclosures provide some protection from foreign objects (such as falling dirt and windblown dust) and the ingress of water (such as rain, snow or sleet alongside splashing water and hose directed water). Enclosures that meet NEMA 4 offer protection against ice forming externally.
Type 6P: Allows for indoor or outdoor use and provides a degree of protection against access to hazardous parts. The enclosures provide some protection from solid objects (such as falling dirt and windblown dust) and the ingress of water (such as hose directed water). Enclosures that meet the NEMA 6P requirement also offer protection against water when being submerged at a limited depth.
Type 12: Limit switches that meet Type 12 requirements provide limited protection against dust, falling dirt and non-corrosive liquids.
Type 13: Enclosures that meet Type 13 are suited to harsh environments. Enclosures can be used indoors and provide protection against access to hazardous parts. They offer protection against solid objects such as falling dirt, windblown dirt, fibres and lint. They provide a level of protection from dripping and splashing water and other liquids such as spraying splashing and seepage of oil and non-corrosive coolants."
