Broadcom Alphanumeric Display


The Broadcom green alphanumeric display has 4 characters and dot matrix display format of 5 x 7 driven by an on-board CMOS IC. It has built-in RAM, ASCII decoder, LED drive circuitry with a luminous intensity of 5.6mcd. The IC stores and decodes 7 bit ASCII data and displays it using a 5 x 7 font. Multiplexing circuitry and drivers are also part of the IC. The IC has fast setup and holds times which makes it easy to interface to a microprocessor.
