Panel Door Mounted Switch Disconnector

Eaton's panel mount isolator switch can sometimes be referred to as a switch disconnector, this is because it has been created and designed to safely isolate a circuit whilst it is being used or maintained. This isolator switch breaks or isolates a circuit through the rotation of the rotary handle and locking ring, manually disconnecting the power supply to isolated parts of the circuit. This type of non-fused isolator switch will be found isolating circuit breakers, transmission lines, transformers and a multitude of other applications.

Features & Benefits

Padlockable in OFF position, up to 3 padlocks and non-locking versions
Ingress protection to IP65
2 and 3 pole versions have built in neutral and earth connections
3 pole switches ('P' type only) accept add-on switched neutral and auxiliary contacts (except 20A switches) – see accessories (RS 219-1439 typical)
Rated operating voltage: 690 Vac
Switching power quoted for 380 - 440 Vac

What is the difference between a fused switch disconnector and a non-fused switch disconnector?

Unlike fused switch disconnectors, a non-fuse isolator switch does not use a fuse to break or put a circuit into isolation, they instead use a rotary switch or knife-blade disconnect to isolate and de-energise a circuit. Commonly used in industrial automation and control settings.

Eaton Non-Fused Isolator Switch, Panel Mounting, 3 Pole - P1-32 Series - P1-32/EA/SVB

Looking for a component that can serve as a main switch and a safety device at the same time? This high-performance isolator switch from Eaton both cuts off and permits power flow to the circuit, and can be locked in the off-state during maintenance, ensuring maximum safety. The switch has a rotary handle made of a thermoplastic material that's durable and serves as an insulator to protect you from electric short circuits. Switches like this are a vital component in the manufacturing and electrical distribution industries.

• Power rating of 15 kW suitable for heavy-duty applications
• Designed to be maintenance-free and offer a long service life
• Wide temperature range of -25°C to +50°C for use in extreme conditions
• IP65 (ingress protection) rating indicates that it's dust-proof and resistant to low-pressure water jets

Who can install an isolator switch?

A trained and experienced electrician should always be the one to carry out the installation of an isolator switch. This is because the main power supply of the system has to be cut off and tested to ensure there's no residual current or incoming power supply.
