Vishay VSMY1850 Series IR Emitting Diodes
The VSMY1850 series, from Vishay Semiconductors, are high speed Infrared (IR) emitting diodes. They are in surface mount (SMT) packages with a standard 0805 package. The VSMY1850 packages have a clear, untinted flat top lens. Suitable applications for the VSMY1850 IREDs include; IrDA compatible data transmission, miniature light barriers, photointerrupters, optical switches, emitter sources for proximity sensors, touch panels, IR flash and 3D TV.

SurfLight™ Technology
SurfLight™ series, from Vishay Semiconductors, consists of high power Infrared (IR) emitters. Their SurfLight™ technology enables the majority of the light and power to be emitted directly through the top of the chip. Standard IR emitters send their light in all directions.
SurfLight™ technology therefore offers a higher intensity output of light. A higher intensity can reduce the number of emitters required for a design. This series also offers high speed with a high pulse current operation.
The reliable SurfLight™ IR LEDs are ideal for applications such as IR data transmission or communication, 3D TV glasses synchronisation, automotive, industrial and IR illumination for CCTV cameras.
