The RS PRO 10.2in HMI (Human Machine Interface) touch screen display is designed for the fluent and easy task management and monitoring of industrial machines, status displays and SCADA systems (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition).

The responsive touch screen interface replaces the need for dials and switches with simple, easy to understand software streamlining processes and reducing the possibility of costly human and mechanical error.

The RS PRO touch screen HMI features a Linux 4.9 QT based operating system as well as 300+ popular PLC serial protocols and is particularly suited to applications that require CANopen communication such as embedded systems used in industrial automation operations.

This compact but powerful CANopen HMI features the ultra-high efficient Cortex A35 processor, capable of running multiple software packages, 128MB of DDRAM memory and a further 128MB of Flash memory.

Supplied with a variety of port options including serial com port, a Micro USB slot and an SD Card slot enabling easy set up and can be panel mounted for wall or machine display in a cut out of 258.4 x 171mm.

The RS PRO 10.2in Touch Screen interface is suitable for a wide range of applications including air conditioning and temperature control systems, access control, systems monitoring and process control in both industrial and commercial settings.

What is a HMI?


HMI stands for Human Machine Interface and is quite simply a way for humans to connect with machines. HMI’s remove the need for dials and switches to control and monitor machines and replaces them with simple to use software. Many of the modern HMI’s are touch screen which further simplifies their use removing the need for proficient keyboard skills and reducing the possibility of mistakes.

What is CANopen?


CAN (Control Area Network) is a communication protocol that allows devices to monitor, communicate and send information to each other in embedded automated systems.

It is commonly used in automated applications and is heavily used in large industrial settings such as automotive factories to enable a large number of robotic and automatic parts to work in harmony without the need to send information back to a central computer at each exchange.

CANopen is a standard that sets the specifications and requirements that have to be met to be called a CANopen device and is designed to allow off the shelf products to fit and work together in one CAN network.
