MAX232 Adapter Board for RS232
The MikroElektronika MIKROE-222 is a MAX232 adapter module for serial UART communications. It is an add-on board which connects a microcontroller to RS232 devices, for example, a serial port on a PC. The MIKROE-222 features RS232 communication and can connect the MAX232 circuit device to a prototyping board.
What is a MAX232?
There is a MAX232 IC on this board. The MAX232 is a dual transmitter / receiver IC that converts RX, TX, CTS, RTS signals. It takes signals via the UART serial connector and converts them into signals that are RS232 standard and then sends that data to the RS232 device.
What's on-board?
MAX232 IC
Female DB9 Connector (RS232)
6-pin connector connects with microcontroller pins for UART communication
