When you're looking for an easy way to switch power between two electrical circuits, use this panel-mounted rotary switch from Eaton. It has two positions, clearly labelled 1 and 2, and a thumb grip you can use to select either of them. Turning the switch causes the current entering the unit to flow to the circuit linked to its new position by closing one contact and opening another. You'll find simple switches like this one in variable-speed fans, light systems and military communications equipment.
