LAPP SKINTOP Series Cable Gland Locknut, M20 Thread Size, Grey - 53119023

This cable gland locknut secures cable glands where only a pass-through hole exists, preventing loosening and improving vibration resistance when fitted into a threaded connection. Manufactured from glass-fibre reinforced polyamide, it is intended for industrial electrical and mechanical installations requiring a Compact fastening solution and compatibility with polyamide cable glands.

Features & Benefits

• Polyamide glass-fibre construction provides mechanical strength and reduced weight
• Temperature range supports dynamic use from -20°C to +100°C
• Static temperature rating down to -40°C for stable long-term installation
• Meets UL94 HB for material flammability performance
• Available in grey to match control panels and enclosures
• Approved under relevant safety listings for use with matching glands

Applications

• Suitable for securing cable glands in control cabinet installations
• Ideal for vibration-prone machinery where threaded fixation is used
• Used with polyamide cable glands in electrical distribution systems
• Can be used for retrofit sealing where only a plain aperture is available

Which materials are used and how do they affect installation?

The nut is MADE from glass-fibre reinforced polyamide, offering higher stiffness than plain nylon while remaining lighter than metal, which eases handling and reduces stress on threaded fittings.

Are there colour options for different environments?

The standard supply includes a silver‑grey shade with alternative shades available to aid Visual identification or to match enclosure finishes.

How does the product improve resistance to vibration?

When used to lock a gland threaded into an enclosure, the hexagonal nut increases axial restraint, reducing the risk of backing off under cyclical loads.

Note

UL approval only when used with the UL-approved SKINTOP® polyamide cable glands
