LAPP SKINTOP Series Cable Gland Locknut, PG9 Thread Size, Grey - 53019011

This cable gland locknut secures cable glands where only a plain pass‑through hole exists, improving resistance to vibrational loosening when a gland is fitted into a threaded opening. Moulded from glass‑fibre reinforced polyamide, it is used as an accessory in industrial cable routing and panel installations and is available in a grey finish compatible with standard SKINTOP cable gland systems.

Features & Benefits

• Rated for continuous use up to 100°C providing high‑temperature tolerance
• Withstands low temperatures down to -20°C ensuring cold‑environment functionality
• Manufactured from polyamide reinforced with glass Fibre offering mechanical strength
• UL‑recognised material classification enabling use with approved glands
• Hexagonal external form allowing secure wrench engagement for fast installation

**Applications**

• Suitable for securing cable glands in control panels subject to vibration
• Ideal for use in automation cabinets where through‑holes lack threads
• Used with polyamide cable glands in electrical distribution enclosures
• Can be used for retrofit of gland fittings in machinery housings

What material properties reduce risk of thread shear during tightening?

The glass‑fibre reinforcement increases tensile and shear resistance compared with unfilled polyamide, improving load distribution at the thread interface.

Which colours are available and how does that aid installation?

The product is supplied in a silver‑grey shade that matches common enclosure finishes to simplify Visual identification during assembly.

Are there specific approvals to consider when pairing with glands?

The locknut’s material has UL recognition, and it should be used with UL‑approved polyamide glands to meet the same approval pathway.

How does the hexagonal shape contribute to long‑term performance?

The hex profile permits firm wrench torque application, reducing the likelihood of loosening under cyclical vibration without relying on adhesive methods.

Note

UL approval only when used with the UL-approved SKINTOP® polyamide cable glands
