ABB S2C Series Auxiliary Contact, 2 Contacts, Side Mounting Location - 2CDS200924R0001

This auxiliary contact provides a Compact signalling Interface for circuit-breakers and related modular devices, designed to indicate fault conditions such as overcurrent and short-circuit. It mounts to the right side of compatible miniature circuit-breakers and supplies a secondary switching function to feed control or indication circuits in distribution panels and control systems.

Features & Benefits

• DPST contact arrangement provides separate switching paths for control
• 2 contacts deliver one normally open and one normally closed contact
• Side-mount design enables straightforward right-side fitting
• Maximum power loss 0.5 W minimises thermal impact on host device
• Compliance with IEC/EN and UL standards aids system integration
• RoHS conformity reduces risk from restricted substances

Applications

• Suitable for signalling tripping events on miniature circuit-breakers
• Used with S200U and S200UP miniature circuit-breakers
• Ideal for auxiliary indication circuits in distribution boards
• Can be used for monitoring overcurrent or short-circuit conditions
• Suitable for accessory mounting on UL489 and CSA compatible systems

How does it signal a tripped breaker to a control system?

It provides a change of state on its signal contact outputs so control or indicator wiring can detect NO/NC transitions when the breaker trips.

Which standards support its use in industrial panels?

The unit meets IEC/EN 60947-5-1 requirements and aligns with UL489 and CSA22.2 No. 5 for use with qualifying breakers.

What mounting orientation is required for installation?

It is designed for side-mounted installation on the right side of compatible miniature circuit-breakers for secure mechanical and electrical connection.

How many switching elements are available for wiring?

The device offers two switching elements configured as one normally open and one normally closed contact to accommodate separate signalling circuits.

What environmental regulatory declarations accompany the part?

It is declared RoHS compliant and has associated REACH and reporting template entries covering restricted-substance information.
