3M Adhesive-Backed/PSA Sanding Disc, 76.2mm Disc Diameter, 150 Grit size - 7100284506

This adhesive-backed/PSA sanding disc is a self-adhesive abrasive intended for heavy stock removal and finishing in industrial sanding operations. Designed with precision-shaped grain on a cotton cloth backing, it pairs with vacuum-capable random orbital sanders and multi-hole back-up pads to control dust and sustain cutting performance in metalworking, woodworking and composite preparation.

Features & Benefits

• Precision-shaped grain for continuous Sharp cutting and extended life
• Open coat construction to resist loading and maintain cut rate
• Anti-static treatment reduces clinging swarf during sanding
• Cotton cloth backing provides wear resistance with flexibility
• Multi-hole extraction compatibility improves dust collection efficiency

Applications

• Suitable for coarse material removal on aluminium components
• Ideal for surface preparation in automotive refinishing processes
• Used with orbital sanders for sanding hardwood and softwood panels
• Can be used for deburring and blending on fabricated metal parts
• Suitable for composite finishing in electronics and mechanical assemblies

What backing system is required for secure attachment?

It uses a pressure-sensitive adhesive that bonds to hook-and-loop or compatible PSA back-up pads for Rapid disc changes.

How does the disc manage airborne particulate during sanding?

The proprietary multi-hole pattern and anti-static treatment direct dust into an extraction system, reducing disc loading and airborne swarf adherence.

Which materials is the abrasive compatible with?

The formulation is effective on metals, aluminium, gelcoat, fibreglass, hardwoods, softwoods and composite substrates for stock removal and finishing.

How does grain behaviour affect lifespan under heavy use?

The shaped mineral fractures to renew cutting edges as it wears, maintaining consistent cut rate and prolonging usable service life.

Are alternative attachment or backing types available?

Other sizes, hole patterns and backing formats such as Stikit are offered to suit different Sander interfaces and extraction needs.
