Eaton MTL Zener Barrier, 28V, 2 Channels - MTL5500 Series - MTL5544
Use this zener barrier from Eaton's MTL range to direct energy safely from hazardous areas to safe zones. This component is a multi-channel device, so it can provide signals for up to two signal loads in low-risk zones. It's energy-efficient, consuming just 96mA (milliamperes) of current at 24V DC (direct current) and dissipating up to 1.4W of power. This component has a green light-emitting diode (LED) indicator that tells you when it's powered up. It's suitable for control and instrumentation systems where it's used to process standardised signals.

How does this zener barrier work?
This zener barrier allows cables to short circuit to each other or to metallic parts connected to an earth without danger. Its resistor limits the incoming current, Zener diodes re-channel the excess voltage to the ground and fuses offer protection from short circuits.
