Eaton British Standard Fuse, 32A, 660V AC TIA32M35

This British Standard fuse from Eaton protects electrical components from short circuits while accommodating the starting surge of a motor. This means it's able to discern between short, harmless current spikes and longer harmful overcurrent conditions. As a result, it's suitable for both general-purpose and motor-protection applications. The fuse also reacts to a low-voltage supply and safely breaks a circuit in the event of low-current faults. Its enclosed resistor won't damage nearby wiring when it melts, so all you need to replace is the fuse itself. Choose a protective device like this for power distribution panels and industrial electrical cable protection.

• Bolted tag fuse that's easy to mount onto a fuse holder for fast assembly

• Reduces the risk of fire and electrocution for improved safety

• Quick to replace, so minimises downtime

• Low power loss for improved efficiency in an electrical circuit

What's the difference between a fuse and a circuit breaker?

A fuse breaks an electrical circuit by blowing, which means the element inside the fuse melts. Once it's blown, a fuse needs to be replaced. A circuit breaker acts like a switch to trip a circuit and can be reset.

Eaton Bussmann Series Red Spot™ Range, Type 'T' HBC Fuses

The Red Spot range of offset slotted fuses (or bolted tag fuses) from Eaton Bussmann is specifically designed for the protection of general industrial applications such as power distribution, cable protection and motor protection. Available in BS88 British Standard fuse sizes from A1 to A4, offset slotted and bolted fuses are suitable for general purpose rating (gG) and dual motor rating (gM) motor protection types.

Features and Benefits

• 2 to 200 A rated current

• Breaking capacity 80 kA up to 690 V ac

• Type A1 rated up to 550 V ac/ 250 V dc

• Type A2 rated up to 660 V ac / 460 V dc

• General purpose (gG) and dual motor rated (gM) types

• Low power dissipation

• ASTA 20 certified

As the fuse allows for the starting surge of a motor its full load current must not exceed the lesser of the dual current rating. e.g. 20 M25 must not have a continuous load of greater than 20A.
