You can use this RS PRO capacitive barrel type sensor to detect metallic and non-metallic objects. The sensor uses an electrical field, allowing you to detect and measure metal and non-metal objects and contents inside non-metallic containers without physical contact.
The housing is made from nickel-copper alloy, which ensures it has strength, durability and resistance to corrosion. It's rated as IP67 according to the Ingress Protection (IP) rating system, meaning it's protected against dust and temporary immersion in water. The sensor also features reverse polarity and short circuit overload protection, so it's safe to use it in your application.
