As the RS PRO photoelectric through beam sensors are small, they are an excellent choice where space is limited and when fast, reliable, exact detection is important. With an immunity to light pollution and able to operate within exacting environments the sensors are a versatile tool within many industries.

This sensor is made up of a light emitter and a light receiver, the detection distance can be increased by separating the light emitter and receiver. When using the through-beam sensor the emitter and receiver are installed either side of the of the path of objects to be detected. When the object passes through the light beam the light is blocked by the object and the light receiving device acts to output a switch control signal.
