Fire Rated Screw
RS PRO Fire Rated Fixing Screw has a 40mm long shaft and close threads which combine to provide exceptional performance. Can be used to secure electrical equipment in popular substrates: masonry, plasterboard, breezeblock, concrete, brickwork and wood.
Fire rated steel screws have been extensively tested and certified to BS7671 and BS5839 part 1 to withstand 970°C for 2 hours, use to comply with 18th edition electrical wiring regulations, after withstanding stress vibrations and water sprays also. In fire tests the screw threads remain securely embedded with no need for anchors or plastic wall plugs (which typically melt at 160°C).
