The Copal Electronics optical rotary encoder belongs to RE30E series, It has 1024 resolution per revolution. It's operating principle is such as when the light from the LED which passes through the slit of the rotating disk actuates the photo-sensor. The output of the photo-sensor which is quasi-sinusoidal is shaped into square wave by the voltage comparator and fed into a logic circuit.
Comes with a temp. compensation circuit
It has zero index signal
Operating temperature range is from 0 °C to 70 °C
It has IP40 protection class
Very economical
It is RoHS compliant
