The RSS36 electronic safety sensor with unique diagnosis meets the highest safety requirements, even when series-wired. It also features new coding functions for the uniform allocation of the actuator to the sensor, this is realised through the integrated RFID technology. The RSS36 has three different coding variants to enable an optimal conformation to the required protection against tampering. The universal mounting features and the optional latching function provides a smooth and rational integration in separating safety guards.

This non-contact safety switch from Schmersal is an essential device for monitoring doors, gates and machine guards. It uses RFID (radio-frequency identification) to sense the position of a uniquely coded actuator then make two short-circuit-proof PNP (positive negative positive) electrical connections. It has a switching distance of ON at 10mm and OFF at 16mm and you can use it with voltages of 20.4 to 26.4V DC and currents of up to 600mA. The device offers three coding variants to deliver effective protection against tampering.

RFID (radio frequency identification) locks use a unique radio frequency code that lets the switch and actuator communicate. Without this code, the switch can't be triggered.
