Watson Smith I/P Converter

The Watson Smith I/P converter is a robust instrument with a flow rate less than 2.5nl/min, connection thread standard NPT female and 1/4in connection thread size. It implements electronic current-to-pressure conversion utilising advanced closed-loop operation to allow accurate high-resolution pressure control via a 4-20mA input signal. Fail-safe operation ensures that output pressure falls to zero on the loss of the input signal. I/P converters are electro-pneumatic instruments that will change pneumatic pressures in response to varying electrical current and voltage input signals. They have extensive application potential in both industrial and process systems, for control of cylinders, valves, valve positioners, relays, brakes and clutches. The converters can be mounted in control rooms or the field and have zero and span settings that are adjustable from the front face of the instrument. Failsafe converters are available which will cause the output pressure to fall below 15mbar (0.2 PSIG) in the event of power failure or loss of the input signal.

Note:

This converter should only be used with oil-free clean dry air filtered to 5μm or less.

*Inlet pressure must be at least 0.7bar above output pressure
