The Microchip LAN9354 is a high performance 3-Port 10/100 Managed Ethernet Switch IC with a single RMII.
The device offers a virtual PHY feature that mimics a single PHY connection through the RMII interface to the host SoC that can simplify software development. This feature also allows system designers to swap the single PHY and Ethernet switch to create multiple SKUs from the same software driver.
The LAN9354 integrates all the functions of a 10/100 switch system including the Switch Fabric, Packet Buffers, Buffer Manager, MACs, PHY Transceivers and Serial Management. IEEE 1588v2 is supported via an integrated Hardware Time Stamp Unit, which supports end-to-end and peer-to-peer transparent clocks.
