LAN8741A 10/100 Ethernet Transceivers

Microchip’s LAN8741A is a Fast Ethernet Transceiver IC that complies with the Energy-Efficient Ethernet standard IEEE 802.3az. This technology reduces power consumption by placing the PHY transmitters into a Sleep mode during periods of inactivity. Further power management options are provided with the inclusion of Microchip’s flexPWR® technology.

Also featured is HP’s Auto MDI-X, a technology that automatically correctly configures the device node when connected to another LAN device; this removes the need for specialised ’crossover’ cables.

The LAN8741A supports Auto-Negotiation, Auto-Polarity Correction, has a MII/RMII Interface and is compliant with 802.3 and 802.3u.
