RS Components adds industry-leading product range to high-performance signal-chain portfolio

Analog Devices’ acquisition of Hittite Microwave boosts RF, microwave and millimetre-wave selection by over 150 devices, with more to come in 2016

RS Components (RS), the trading brand of Electrocomponents plc (LSE:ECM), the global distributor for engineers, is now able to offer customers the pick of more than 150 additional high-performance RF devices, including ICs and modules, following the recent acquisition of Hittite Microwave Corporation by distribution partner Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI).

Hittite Microwave Products from Analog Devices now extend the RS portfolio of RF, microwave and millimetre-wave solutions covering frequencies from DC to 110 GHz, and complement ADI’s RF/IF-to-baseband signal-chain components. Hittite customers can now buy their preferred devices from RS, and benefit from world-class distribution services including an extensive choice of complementary components, large stockholding with immediate despatch for rapid delivery, online ordering and account management, dedicated personal support, and technical backup.

The Hittite range has excellent synergy with ADI products. The company was founded in 1985, and is a leader in digital ICs, RFICs and Monolithic Microwave ICs (MMICs) leveraging state-of-the-art process technologies such as GaAs and BiCMOS. The acquisition strengthens ADI’s position as a leader in high-performance signal processing.

Going forward, RS and its customers worldwide will benefit from the combined strengths of the ADI and Hittite teams, which have announced their intention to develop new high-performance products leveraging the advanced competencies ingrained in both organisations. RS will add more devices from the Hittite range in 2016.
